Let my people GO!

Exodus records the dramatic confrontation of Moses and Pharaoh, the crossing of the Red Sea, the journey to Mount Sinai and the two major events at Sinai- the giving of the Law and the construction of the Tabernacle. The book shows how God took an unorganized group of slaves and welded them together as a theocratic nation. i.e., a nation ruled by God. – Holy Bible, KJV; Zondervan, © 1994.

The Ran (Rabbi Nissim ben Reuven of Girona, who lived from 1320-1380) – “The Hebrews and Egyptians were involved in a clash of two civilizations: the God who created human beings in His image was pitted against the idol Ra, the sun-god who represented domination and enslavement. Thus Moses, the man of justice and freedom for all, was locked in a struggle against Pharaoh, the despot who controlled and enslaved an entire society.” -Judaism, by Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, The International Jerusalem Post 12-28-07

It is written: “’Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all the nations you will be my treasured possession.  Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a Holy Nation.’  These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.” –Exodus 19:5, 6 Holy Scriptures

Excerpts:  The Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel, May 14, 1948  Complete Declaration

ERETZ-ISRAEL [(Hebrew) -the Land of Israel, Palestine] was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped. Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of Books.

On the 29th November, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the establishment of a Jewish State in Eretz-Israel; the General Assembly required the inhabitants of Eretz-Israel to take such steps as necessary on their part for the implementation of that resolution. This recognition by the United Nations of the right for the Jewish people to establish their State is irrevocable.

Placing our trust in the “rock of Israel”, we affix our signatures to this  session of the provisional council of the State, on the soil of the Homeland, in the city of Tel -Aviv, on this Sabbath Eve, this 5th day of Iyar, 5708 (14th May, 1948).  –David Ben-Gurion  HolyNationRainbow
